Inform RAMQ of a departure from Québec

You must be present in Québec to remain eligible for the Health Insurance Plan. If you live in Québec, to remain eligible for health insurance, you must not be absent from Québec 183 days or more per calendar year. Persons arriving from another country who are temporarily eligible during their stay in Québec will lose their eligibility for the duration of an absence of more than 21 consecutive days. However, there are exceptions.

You must contact us before leaving Québec to find out the rules applicable to your situation. This way, you will know whether you remain eligible during your absence.
