Examination of your application

We undertake to process your application in keeping with our values. As specified in the Health Insurance Act, we have 90 days to render our decision following the receipt of an application for review.

An agent may contact you to clarify your expectations and complete your file. Examination of your application is based on the new information you provide and the documents on file for the entire period in question. If information is missing, this could delay the processing of your file. After your file has been reviewed, the agent will notify you in writing of the decision rendered by RAMQ.

Transmission of documents related to an application underway

After you have filed your application for review, you can still provide additional supporting documents. For our part, we may also require additional information so that we can effectively process your application.

Send documents

Extending the deadline

If you send us documents after you have filed your application for review, you have 90 days in which to do so, in keeping with the Health Insurance Act. This deadline applies from the date of receipt of the documents. If we consider that additional information or documents are needed to render our decision, the deadline will be extended by 90 days, in which case we will notify you accordingly.

If these deadlines are not met, you may wait for the decision to be rendered by RAMQ following your application for review, or contest the one already handed down before the Tribunal administratif du Québec (TAQ).

You may contact the TAQ if you believe that the decision rendered by RAMQ following your application for review does not respect your rights. You have 60 days, from the date on which you are notified of the decision, in which to do so.
